Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi Android 4.3 update Rolling Out
Sony had already released the Android 4.3 firmware update for the LTE version of the Xperia Tablet Z (SGP321), but owners of the Wi-Fi only Xperia Tablet Z (SGP311 and SGP312) were left waiting. We can now report that the update is now live for the Wi-Fi tablets, which updates the Xperia Tablet Z (SGP311/SGP312) to Android 4.3 with build number 10.4.B.0.577.
The update brings a number of changes including a new home launcher (similar to the Xperia Z1), the Sony Smart Social camera, ‘Xperia Theme’ support, the ability to launch multiple Small Apps, Restricted Profiles for multi-users and a new version of battery STAMINA mode. However, we’re sad to see that the app shortcut on the top left of the screen has been removed – this was something we found very convenient for the most used apps. The update is only available through PC Companion or SUS (Sony Update Service), you won’t be able to download OTA (over-the-air).
